ABOUT OUR LITTLE ADVENTURE
Who We Are
Nigel and Joanna are a married couple living most of the time in Cheshire. They have been lucky enough to travel together to Barbados a few times over the years and got married there in 2017.
All of the family seem to take more and more stuff with them each time they return to the island.
They always found the US power supply in Barbados a bit slow when it comes to recharging all the family UK spec gadgets.
Phones, iPads, watches, cameras, head torches, drones, gaming devices all seem to take forever to recharge and sometimes don't really power up properly at all.

But recently things turned for the worse. Much worse!

Joanna and her daughters are very keen on their Dyson haircare products.
Recently, they realised that their UK spec Dyson haircare products would not work at all using the US power supply of 110 volts. The lights come on, but nothing works (insert your own joke here).
So after barking at Nigel "Make my hairdryer work!" he figured out that a step up transformer was a way of fixing that.
A small portable transformer that steps up US 110 volt electricity to European 220 volts was needed.
The problem was that he needed a 3000 watt version that weighs over 10 lbs and he didn’t really want to bring one with him. He then discovered that he’d need to spend a lot of his holiday traipsing around hardware stores on the island to buy one.
Furthermore, the ones available on the island were large, complex, heavy and expensive.

And what to do with it at the end of the trip?

So the idea came to them both that with the help of some friends on the island, a little rental service could be set up for other people needing a bit more umph in their lives….
Make My Hair Dryer Work was an instruction that became a service.
